Meet The Corporate Team
Jessica Sidener – Founder and CEO
Why did you start Night Out with “The Girls”?
I developed Night Out with “The Girls” because I wanted to create an experience where people could learn about the importance of early breast cancer detection and, most importantly, when to take action. Our wellness program focuses on comfort, conversation and connection…and we have tons of fun! I believe people can have fun AND learn about early breast cancer detection…in fact, they should have fun while delving into this tough topic.
What is your professional background?
I am an Ohio State Buckeye and studied journalism and public relations in my undergraduate work. I have worked in media relations at Ohio State done marketing in the restaurant industry. Most recently, I have served in management and on the executive team of a large library system for almost 15 years, overseeing strategic direction for public relations/marketing, community partnerships, events and overall engagement with the 275,000 patrons we serve. I received a Masters of Science in Organizational Leadership from Regis University. I love being part of organizations that serve their communities, clients and team members. Night Out with “The Girls” allows me to put all my professional background to use in a unique way that is truly changing the course of how the topic of early breast cancer detection is tackled.
Why do you love educating girls about their “girls”?
I enjoy looking for unique ways to solve problems in ways that are rooted in serving others and embrace “out of the box” thinking. The reality is that everyone needs to be educated about early breast cancer detection. Paying attention to “the girls” is essential for so many reasons. Educating others about the importance of early breast cancer detection gives women the information and encouragement to take their health into their own hands (literally and figuratively). Most importantly, if/when they notice something that is not quite right, to take action with their healthcare provider immediately. This knowledge has the potential to impact so many lives. The reality is, without action, you can’t detect breast cancer early. I love equipping women with the tools needed to detect breast cancer early so they can continue to thrive as moms, friends, colleagues, sisters, partners, wives…and as WOMEN!
Night Out with “The Girls” is all about COMFORT, CONNECTION and CONVERSATION. Which of those three words resonates with you the most, regarding women’s health (and why)?
Connection. Our wellness program is designed to create connections between participants through honest, real, raw dialogue, stories, and questions/answers. We not only encourage the awkward, nitty gritty conversation, we embrace it.
There is true freedom knowing that someone else has the same concerns, confusion and fears when it comes to anything, including how to detect breast cancer early and what it is like to fight breast cancer.
Those “awkward” conversations often lead to connection. When people have the opportunity to connect (in a fun way) over a tough topic like breast cancer, that isolation decreases….and the grit, courage and excitement to take action increases. Participants leave our events not only more educated on what to look for and when to take action when it comes to their “girls”, they actually are excited and no longer feel alone in their breast health journey.
What is one fun fact about you that may be a surprise to others?
I love archery and have a mini-archery range in my basement. Shooting my compound bow is a great way to relieve stress, focus and challenge myself in a different way.
Night Out with “The Girls” is all about FUN! What do you like to do for fun?
I love dabbling in so many outdoor activities, including: hiking, paddle boarding, kayaking, scuba diving and skiing. I am a foodie, so I love exploring new restaurants. I am even getting some “informal” cooking lessons from a good friend, which is really fun and pushes me out of my comfort zone quite a bit. I also love traveling as it is always exciting to have experiences in places other than Colorado (although, I am so LUCKY to live in Colorado). I also LOVE, LOVE, LOVE spending time with my little niece and nephew (and have a new nephew on the way)! Really, I try to embrace any opportunity for fun that comes my way… life is short, so I try to take advantage of every moment 🙂

Why did you choose to be part of the Night Out with “The Girls”? I chose to be a part of Night Out With “The Girls” because I wanted to be a part of something bigger than myself. I am inspired by the responses and revelations that every woman has at one of our events and seeing them take action. Being able to educate women on early breast cancer detection and helping the take their health into their own hands is incredibly rewarding and fulfilling work! I am honored to be a part of this team.
What is your professional background? I have spent the last 6 years as the founder of CR Conversations and The Conversation Club, an online sales coaching platform for female entrepreneurs. Why do you love educating girls about their “girls”? I love educating girls about their “girls” because it can save lives. The fun, comfortable and safe environment we create to educate women about their “girls” generates necessary conversation and encourages them to take action.
Night Out with “The Girls” is all about COMFORT, CONNECTION and CONVERSATION. Which of those three words resonates with you the most, regarding women’s health (and why)? Connection is the word that resonates with me the most in regards to women’s health. It is commonplace for women to constantly be serving others and to put themselves last. By having connections to other like-minded women you are able to take time for yourself, build relationships and are more encouraged to take action on with your own health needs.
What is one fun fact about you that may be a surprise to others? I have always had a passion for writing and when I was younger I had several poems published in poetry collections.
Night Out with “The Girls” is all about FUN! What do you like to do for fun? I am a HUGE animal lover! My husband, Henry, and I spend time with our fur babies, Vinny, Theo and Greg. We are also urbanites that love to try new restaurants and cocktail bars, go to concerts and play lots of board games.
